Control mechanisms for packet audio in the
نویسندگان
چکیده
Current packet-switched networks such as the Internet do not provide guaranteed performance measures such as maximum loss rate or delay jitter. One way to support packet audio in these networks is to use control mechanisms which adapt the audio coding and decoding processes based on the state of the network so as to maximize the quality of the audio delivered to the destinations. This quality essentially depends on the characteristics of the loss and the delay jitter processes in the network. In this paper, we describe and analyze a set of eecient control mechanisms which attempt to minimize the impact of these processes. The mechanisms include a a jitter control mechanism and a combined error and rate control mechanism. These mechanisms have been implemented and evaluated over the Internet and the MBone. Experiments indicate that they make it possible to establish and maintain good quality audiocon-ferences even across fairly congested connections.

Abstract The streamed audio video (AV) content for IPTV across mobile WiMAX channel, the different schemes were discussed to reduce the noise, packet loss and latency. The objective of this paper is to verify the effectiveness of forward error correction (FEC) techniques and to suggest the techniques for robustness problems and to analysis the issues either due to AV coding encoding or due to...
متن کاملReliable Flow Control Coding in Low-Buffer Grid Networks
We consider a grid network where nodes contain small buffers. A packet that faces a crowded buffer in its route will get extra latency and may be dropped. In this paper, we propose a novel flow control protocol called RFCC for grid networks. RFCC tries to reroute delayed packets and utilizes network coding to introduce a configurable amount of redundant information in the network, thereby incre...

متن کاملRobust Model for Networked Control System with Packet Loss
The Networked Control System in modern control widely uses to decrease the implementation cost and increasing the performance. NCS in addition to its advantages is inevitable. Nevertheless they suffer of some limitations and deficiencies. Packet loss is one of the main limitations which affect the control system in different conditions and finally may lead to system instability. For this reason...
متن کاملAnalysis and Control of Audio Packet Loss over Packet-Switched Networks
We consider the problem of distributing audio data over networks that do not provide support for real-time applications. Experiments with such networks (e.g. the Internet) has shown that audio quality is mediocre in large part because of excessive audio packet losses. In this paper, we show using measurements over the Internet as well as analytic modeling that most audio losses are isolated whe...
